My son called his Dad the other night for the Texas instruments scientific calculator for his Math test review. We have three of them in different drawers however none of those calculators seemed to be functioning even if its in dual mode: solar and battery operated. How long the battery of a calculator should last? I remember when I had my scientific calculator it lasted for two years and then all I need is to change the battery. A tiny microchip battery. Stainless tiny round chip the size of the smallest pea. Imagine how strange the microchip is when it comes to its function in order to provide data. Then look if not stare at the memory chip in your digital camera and ask yourself how the hell that small piece of device can store gigabytes of data. Imagine a 4 GB of memory can have at least 5,000 photographs or ten thousands. Have those photos in album and surely you'll be amazed that you need at least 20 photo albums. It saves time and space.
Then next he asked, "how to tie a tie?" You know how to tie a neck tie? i think they will have sort of a performance on history dealing with the old period in time wherein they all have to wear clothes or attire or let say costume. I didn't bother to ask him for he is more suited to asking his Dad about almost everything. When he was a young boy or before he reached puberty we are more close when it regards to the activities in school. I am the normal kind of mother who helped with my children needs and their activities. Time changed dramatically since the time when they reached the teen years. Am I like that during the time when I was a teenager? That I got nothing to do with my parents except that I have to ask for my baon or allowance, bus fare, payment for tuition fee, money to pay for project, feasibility studies, money for pad paper, ballpen, notebook, new bags, shoes, clothes. Yeah it was like a constant asking for money to purchase all what I need for my schooling and mind you I never fail my parents when it comes to showing my good grades in school. I didn't end up a scholar but sure made them happy that I passed all the exams. The happier they are if I got an "uno." seldom you get an uno mark in the University unless you have perfect scores from all the tests at the very beginning of the class. I got grades such as: 1.00, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2.00, 2.25, 2.50, 2.75 and 3.00. (in variation) depends on the subject and depends on the professors who either give 2.00 or 3.00 and 5.00 only. They felt sad and lonely if they will give below 2.00 for they want to keep you in their class. Ahahahha. Stay there forever for the boring lecture. Professors who issued 3.00 for half of the class are the conservatives, very strict orthodox teachers who believed in the rote system. They are the proof of professors who are also kind of bookies memorizing all the words, paragraphs including period and commas inside the book. They are god-like and have those robotic features not showing any facial reactions whatsoever. Professors who issued less than 1.75 mark on class cards are generous giver but you as a student had shown excellence in the academic course without being a manipulator and a sucker. Yup deserving grades because the students work so hard to achieve it. No ifs no buts.
Mark of excellence and passing grades in schools and universities in the US is somewhat the opposite of the grades issued in the Philippines. The number 4 and 5 determines >>PASSED. Passing grade.
Now here comes the WAVE. Too many definitions for the wave. It could be the wave of the water along the shore, beach and ocean. The wave pool where children and adults have to play ball and swim. It could be the kind of wave disturbance like magnetic poles shifting, remember the changing tides and every 11 th year the cycle of wave force is felt and the extreme climate reactions c ausing the many variations in the earth's surface. Too much activities in the north pole that's why. I don't need to be scientifically inclined to know this. Anyway, that's what happened when the earth is getting old.
Even old people felt the same kind of magnitude or tremors wherein you have to slow down when you are over 40 years old. . .
