Beijing Winter Olympic Games 2022

 I asked my hubby if we could walk along the beach because the weather is nice, sunny and warm. He said it's actually cold at the beach. Yup, the sun is up today and the clear blue sky is wider than the clouds but cold outside because of the northeast winds.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games is over and done, finished last Sunday.

The Winter Olympics in Beijing just showed the power and strength of the VIKINGS from Norway.

Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

 Got tired of the many news about covid so I changed channels most often than not. It's good that Olympic Games in Beijing started earlier with their Figure Skating and Ice Dancing competition and that's what I was pre-occupied for two hours. 

I missed the ice dancing talent of Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir from Canada as they turned professional and had retired from competing in the Olympic Games. Nothing compares to their excellent almost acrobatic ice dancing performance. 

I woke up early before 4 am just to watch the Opening Ceremony of the BEIJING 2022 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES.

The introduction of the 90+ countries and its delegates, athletes for the competition. Canada has 215 Olympic athletes to compete in the Winter Olympic Games while it is surprising that there are athletes from tropical countries who also joined in for the Game. Good for them. It is about participation and solidarity.

I took photos from the screen of our TV. Wouldn't it be nice if they have no masks. You cannot recognize them because everyone's covered with facemasks . What's visible are the flags they waved and their colorful outfit or uniform.

The simple presentation of a giant snowflake represents all the countries participating in the Game. The main event is held at the BIRD'S NEST so the theme is about "creation." Children holding on to those white birds, representing maybe the doves... whatever. Maybe it's another kind of species of bird.

The passing of torch is so simple as it is and to take the torch of light to the center of the giant snowflake looks kind of small for a light to be seen. It's winter so less visibility of light through the giant snowflake with 90+ countries. Giant snowflake with small snowflakes inside while  inside the Bird's Nest.
