STUNNING, MAJESTIC, LUXURIOUS, EXTRAVAGANT!!
There is nothing like this so it is one of a kind. RIVER SEINE will be remembered for such a very long, long time for this very remarkable Opening Ceremony of the OLYMPIC GAMES. It's been hundred years so what can you expect...the unexpected.
A lone French man holding on to the official torch light and entered the podium only to be surprised that the arena was empty, nobody there. Then a man dressed in formal attire approached him and tried to get the torch from him to the man's reluctance, anyway the man in dress suit got hold of the torch then the press and the media were then flashed on the screen and the man carried the torch outside the arena to the busy streets, while the kids followed him down to the subway. The man carried the torch to the subway train until he passed the torch to the three kids. The kids carried the torch to the innermost underground, to the sacred burial site of skulls then to the watery shed and a crocodile had appeared and scared them. Finally, a mysterious boater shroud in mystery let the children in to his boat and they rowed to the River Seine.
BOAT PARADE: Participating athletes and their delegation and country of origin were then onboard the designated boats for the fluvial parade.
Music keeps on playing on the river bank. World renowned artist LADY GAGA wearing in black skimpy suit with other dancers holding on to bright pink pompons. The camera showed the President of France making funny faces. More elaborate dancing, multi-colored outfit worn by dancers and performers doing acrobatic sequences. Passion and romance inside the Library.
The Mystery Man in mystery mask/shroud entered the famous Notre Dame Cathedral showing the construction workers also doing their acrobatic stunts.
More introduction and fluvial parade of the Olympic athletes, their country of origin, their flags.
Once again music was then interlink with the program when a famous rock band welcome the boat carrying an opera singer (supposedly the Marie Antonette era).
IMAGINE was once again sung by a French artist/singer.
Then Medieval Period or Futuristic scene? A knight wearing metallic armour riding a horse on River Seine. This is the most magical part of the program ceremony. It was movie-like. The mysterious knight masked in mystery carried the flag of the Olympics. It was his cape, rather the "knight" was wearing the Olympic flag cape. Who do you think symbolizes the knight? Who else?
JOAN OF ARC.
The flag was hand over to the French Republican Guards and then raise up to the podium. The Olympic anthem was sung. Speeches followed. France's Olympic Committee leader had a special speech followed by IOCC Thomas Bach welcomed everybody and his speech include: Pinnacle of their journey SOLIDARITY, UNITY, PEACE, EQUALITY. He thanked the MEDIA, the Dreamers & Dreams. OLYMPIC SPIRIT - LIVE IN PEACE.

PROGRAM Continues: The Mysterious man hand over or passed the torch to Rafael Nadal (famous tennis player from Spain). Eiffel Tower showcase pulsating spectacular lights. Rafael Nadal carried the torch to the River Seine and board the boat with other veteran Olympiads: Nadia Commanecci, Serena Williams and the French Olympic athlete.
More music and dance. Discotheque theme. Almost non-stop. Then fashion shows showcase latest fashionable outfit worn by fashion models.
The Olympic torch was then carried by Amelia Moresimo to the Paris streets to the delight and excitement of the huge crowd. The torch was then passed to Tony Parker, while passing through the famous structure PYRAMID OF GLASS. then to the ARCH to the Secret Garden until the torch was finally received by two male and female Olympic athletes and entered the Official cauldron to the hot air balloon.
THE HOT AIR BALLOON is the official TORCH flame that will be lighted for the rest of the SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES. Wow! Magnificent!!
More surprises! CELINE DION on Eiffel Tower gave her greatest performance as if the last, hitting higher notes with more power and grace. BRAVO CELINE! You made Canadians proud and strong. Thank you! You are such an amazing, talented, versatile artist.
The Paris Olympic venue lighted up as if its the close encounter of the third kind.
The Hot AIR BALLOON in warmth bright yellow color suspended in mid-air above the cauldron...reminds me of JULES VERNE's AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS.
WELL, THIS IS THE LONGEST & LAVISHLY EXPENSIVE OPENING CEREMONY EVER!
